Join us for the 2025 DSP Recognition Event on Friday September 12\, from 10:00 a.m – 3:30 p.m as we roll out the red carpet for Ohio’s incredible DSPs! This year’s event brings the glitz and glamour of HOLLYWOOD to center stage. \n\n\n\nLighthouse Cove’s annual DSP Recognition Event coincides with the U.S.’s National Direct Support Professional Recognition Week. Here in Ohio\, you can join hundreds of fellow DSPs and enjoy a fun-filled day that’s FREE for DSPs\, thanks in large part to our generous ABC Boosters and contribution from the Ohio DODD.The day includes a keynote\, entertainers\, and speakers\, socializing\, games and prizes\, and a lunchtime meal\, as well as site-specific activities. Hundreds of I/DD professionals gather for the fun and fellowship. \n\n\n\nGeneral admission for this event is FREE of charge for all DSPs! You can learn more about the Lighthouse Cove Credentialing Program – DSPATHS here! \n\n\n\nThis groundbreaking program has earned national recognition\, including the prestigious Moving Mountains Award from the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP)\, for its excellence in elevating the DSP workforce. \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nDSP RECOGNITION EVENT – Frequently Asked Questions \n\n\n\nCan I bring the individuals I support\, or my family?No. The Direct Support Professional Recognition Event is exactly that: it’s an event exclusively for Direct Support Professionals (and independent providers working as DSPs). This is a day just for DSPs\, to relax\, rejuvenate\, and bask in recognition away from the day-to-day routine. \n\n\n\nCan I show up any time that day?No. The Recognition Event is a planned event that begins at 10 a.m. and concludes at 3:30pm\, and includes presentations\, activities\, speakers\, entertainment\, networking\, etc. This all takes place in Hilliard at The Makoy. \n\n\n\nIs this event really “free?”Yes! When we say\, “there’s no cost for DSPs\,” we mean it – there’s NO cost. Additionally\, this year\, we are pleased to have major support from the Ohio DODD: funding from the Department is providing the first 50 registrations for FREE and the next 125 at HALF-PRICE. The regular registration rate is $50. All registrations include lunch. There are no group discounts. \n\n\n\nIn addition to our keynote plenary presentations\, the Summit offers breakout sessions that address – \n\n\n\n\nSmart Money Moves: Building a Strong Financial Future\n\n\n\nUI/MUI reporting process and update\n\n\n\nStrong Foundations: Yoga for Connecting Mind\, Body & Heart \n\n\n\nConnecting the Pieces that Matter\n\n\n\n\n– and each of these sessions is offered twice. All sessions are submitted to DODD for CPDUs. \n\n\n\n\n\nWhen registering for the Summit\, you have the option to purchase the 2025 Summit t-shirt. To celebrate in proper fashion\, we are planning our biggest event yet\, and will be rocking out with not one\, not two\, but THREE of last year’s top American Idols in the midst of their Built-4-More tour!  \n\n\n\nLighthouse Cove’s annual DSP Recognition Event coincides with the U.S.’s National Direct Support Professional Recognition Week. Here in Ohio\, you can join hundreds of fellow DSPs and enjoy a fun-filled day that’s FREE for DSPs\, thanks in large part to our generous ABC Boosters and contribution from the Ohio DODD.The day includes a keynote\, entertainers\, and speakers\, socializing\, games and prizes\, and a lunchtime meal\, as well as site-specific activities. Hundreds of I/DD professionals gather for the fun and fellowship. \n\n\n\n\n\nHelp us find the Lighthouse Cove 2024 DSP of the Year! \n\n\n\n\n\nThe deadline for 2024 nominations has passed\, but you can click here for information about the award. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDSP RECOGNITION EVENT – Frequently Asked Questions \n\n\n\nCan I bring the individuals I support\, or my family?No. The Direct Support Professional Recognition Event is exactly that: it’s an event exclusively for Direct Support Professionals (and independent providers working as DSPs). This is a day just for DSPs\, to relax\, rejuvenate\, and bask in recognition away from the day-to-day routine. \n\n\n\nCan I show up any time that day?No. The Recognition Event is a planned event that begins at 10 a.m. and concludes at 3:30pm\, and includes presentations\, activities\, speakers\, entertainment\, networking\, etc. This all takes place in Columbus at DWELL Community Conference Center. \n\n\n\nIs this event really “free?”Yes! When we say\, “there’s no cost for DSPs\,” we mean it – there’s NO cost. Registration includes parking\, lunch\, special guests\, entertainment\, activities\, and an afternoon concert with 3 American Idols. \n\n\n\nThe registration form will only let me register 15 DSPs\, including myself. Leadership is more than a position\, and it’s needed at all levels of an organization – to mentor\, to innovate\, and to keep the organization on track and moving forward. Cultivating leadership strengthens an organization\, and refines efficiency\, effectiveness\, and resilience. \n\n\n\nLighthouse Cove developed Leadership LAUNCHpad (LLP) to help with those strengthening and refining processes. It’s a unique occasion\, immersing each participant in a leadership-themed environment shared with like-minded people. Every LLP is its own universe\, separate from “the outside world\,” so participants are empowered to concentrate on personal development\, exercise networking skills\, and re-enter the day-to-day with a clearer sense of their leadership identities. \n\n\n\n\n\nCancellation Policy\n\n\n\nParticipants must notify Lighthouse Cove in writing by 7/10/2024 to receive a full refund\, minus a $50 processing fee. This timing provides an opportunity to fill the vacated space. If cancellation is necessary on or after 7/10/2024\, no refund will be given\, but an organization may substitute a different participant. Lighthouse Cove cannot give any refund for no-shows. DESCRIPTION:Lighthouse Cove’s DSP and Frontline Supervisor Councils are two separate groups made up of leading professionals that help keep Lighthouse Cove’s Board of Directors and the Lighthouse Cove team informed about the frontline experience. They act in supportive and representative roles for their fellow DSPs and Supervisors. The groups combine for an annual retreat at which they review the Councils’ achievements\, collaborate on and develop new Council-led initiatives\, and help plan for Lighthouse Cove’s marquee programs\, including the annual DSP Recognition Event and Summit.
